Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked
Questions
1) How much does
it cost to receive services?
Sliding Scale fees are assessed for those client's who live
or work in our four county catchment area (Haskell, Meade, Seward
and Stevens counties). Fees range from $5 per hour to $120 per
hour depending on the client's monthly or yearly income and number
of dependents on that income. The Center will bill the client's
insurance company but the client is responsible for the fee at
time of service. If the insurance pays all or a portion of the
billed service, the client will be refunded the appropriate amount.
2) How can I be
assured of confidentiality?
Confidentiality of client records is protected by K.S.A. 1996
Supp. 65-5601 to 65-5605. This privilege extends to all professional
disciplines as well as any other employees who obtain knowledge
of treatment information while working for this mental health
center. The privilege extends to group therapy, and protects even
the identity of an individual patient or former patient. A mental
health center may not disclose whether a patient is currently
receiving treatment, or has ever received treatment in the past,
without the patient's consent. For further information regarding
confidentiality, please call our office.
3) How soon will
I be able to be seen by a counselor after calling for services?
Depending on the severity of the problem, a counselor will
complete a short interview over the telephone to help determine
the level of emergency. You may be seen that very day or scheduled
for an appointment later in the week or quite possibly even the
next week. If an appointment is scheduled and you feel the situation
has worsened, you may call back to the Center and be re-evaluated
over the telephone to determine if an earlier appointment is needed.
